The Crocodilian
Volume 2, Edition 1 September 20, 2018
Welcome from our Principal, Mr. Pollock
Hello H. E. Corley Family,
We have gotten off to a great start this year. I look forward to watching your children learn and grow as we go throughout this school year. Our faculty and staff are prepared to provide the most rigorous, exciting, and purposeful lessons. We know that not all learning takes place during school hours and we are so happy that you all are a part of our learning community. I always say that it "Takes a Village" and you certainly are a huge part of the H.E. Corley village.
Through our Leadership and Montessori Magnets, we are able to teach and develop our students holistically. Our goal is to build Leaders and Learners for Life while also adopting the teaching philosophy of Montessori for a portion of our students. When we work together as students, teachers, parents, guardians, community members, and business partners we will do some amazing things. That's why we say, "Great Happens Here at HEC." I know this is going to be our best year yet and I look forward to seeing the wonderful things we will accomplish. Welcome Back and Stay Classy Crocodiles.
Sincerely,
Jason Pollock, Principal
Student Health Screenings
We will have our student Health Screenings next Friday, September 27th. ALL students in 5K, 1st, 3rd and 5th grade will be screened. Students NEW to our school in 2nd and 4th grade will be screened. If your child wears glasses, please make sure they have them.
If you have any questions, please contact Nurse Boulware @ (803) 476-4009.
Save those Pop Tops
But don't stop after September 28th! Our Preschoolers will collect the tabs from aluminum cans to give to the Ronald McDonald House. The money they receive for recycling the tabs provides a home away from home for parents and families of children who are hospitalized.
Save your tabs! Get your friends to save them! Bring them to H. E. Corley weekly or monthly
and give them to your teacher. Our wooden McDonald house is located near the front office.
Dear Parents and Guardians of H. E. Corley Elementary School,
We are partnering with BrightBytes, an educational research organization, in order to learn more about our students’ school and home technology use for learning.
We are reaching out to ask you to take part in a Technology & Learning questionnaire. Your participation is essential to help us form a more complete picture of technology use for learning in our students’ lives. Please know that all of your responses will remain anonymous to protect your privacy and they will help your child's school choose the right technology for their classrooms. It will take approximately 5 minutes to complete.
The last day to complete this questionnaire is October 5, 2018. Please complete the questionnaire by going to the following link:
Thank you for taking part in this important initiative!
