Happy Friday Everyone,

Michigan seems to have gotten serious about sending us winter! Time to get out all the cold weather gear. Hopefully everyone knows where their boots, hats and gloves are . . . If not, that's the weekend mission. Boots are such an important part of winter gear - especially with our snowy - and very wet - playground. Students without boots stay and play on the playpad (when it's snow free) or stay inside when the snow mounts up and the playpad has not been shoveled.

This edition of the Update has the link to update your child(ren)'s emergency contact numbers - and names of those people you authorize to pick up your child in an emergency. Please take a minute and click on the PowerSchool link below to make sure the names and numbers are still correct.

Our Beck Family Volunteers (BFV) are kicking off the annual giving projects - The Giving Tree (to support Macomb Foster Care) and The Mitten Tree. Those flyers are below. And if you purchase poinsettias each holiday, consider buying them from our BFV and let your purchase support our school! The Poinsettia sale kicks off next week and runs through December 8th! The flowers will be delivered on Dec. 14.

On Saturday we competed in Lego Robotics. We had to get our robot to do different missions. We chose the windmill, car, TV, hand, and innovation project. We scored 35th place. We had a lot of fun!

This fall our school staff has been working with our district administration and security team to make sure we are prepared in the event of a school emergency - of any kind. School safety is everyone's priority - staff, students and parents. Our Beck staff have a bag always ready to take with them, should we ever need to leave their class, or our school. Parents, we need you to be ready, too. In the event that we need to contact parents, we would use PowerSchool to provide us with parent contact information. It is very important that those numbers you list are up to date, accurate, and reflect who you would trust with your child in the event we cannot reach you. Please take a moment and look at what emergency contacts you have listed for yourself, your spouse, and any others you name to pick up your child.
