Principal's Message for May 18, 2017
Dear Families and Community Members,
This afternoon during Enrichment Clusters, students celebrated their work from the past several months. The children worked with the adults in multiage groups (K-6) to develop a product or service in an area of common interest. This session's topics included: Architecture, Lego Robotics, Snowflakes, Art and the Environment, Kindness Bells, Actividades Extracurriculares, and Rainforest Adventures. Students shared their models, displays, products, and presentations with one another. I'd like to send a special thank you to architect and parent Nathalie Brodhead for dedicating many hours to facilitate the Architecture Cluster.
Yesterday, Devagn joined me as the "Assistant Principal for the Day". I was so impressed with how serious he was about his role. Together, we led our whole school morning meeting. We also visited classrooms to check on the learning of all of our students. Devagn and I were so impressed with everyone's focus and effort that we decided to add 5 extra minutes to recess, and to allow the Upper Blended students to enjoy lunch outside since the older students were away on field trips. Devagn also helped me with many other "principal" duties throughout the day, always with poise and dedication to the task. Thank you, Friends of Warren School, for setting up the "Assistant Principal for the Day" raffle opportunity. I think that I may have had more fun than Devagn did!

Summer Garden Maintenance
Warren students are readying the beds, and will be sowing seeds and transplanting plants into Harvest of Dreams for it’s 16th growing season!
Through sustainable, organic practices the garden brings life-long, authentic learning into the lives of our students who work hard to collaboratively bring the garden to life. Warren School is very proud of its Harvest of Dreams garden. Since 2002, students, families and staff have worked together to create a garden for students to explore curriculum objectives and environmental stewardship.Throughout the summer, the delicious, nutritious produce is enjoyed by those in need at area soup kitchens and food banks and by families maintaining the garden. Upon arrival back to school in the fall, students enjoy the freshly picked produce and the Warren community is invited to join us at our Harvest Luncheon to enjoy the dishes each class freshly prepared. .
The outreach, celebrations, and success of the garden would not be possible without families helping to maintain it over the summer.
As in the past, we are seeking families to sign-up for one week. (Consider sharing the week with another family!) If your family is able to help, please fill out this form.
Summerfest - Camp for students in grades 2-8
Wamogo High School is pleased to announce that for the upcoming summer of 2017, we are running our very own summer program: Summerfest.
This is a 6 week long camp-style program that is 4 days a week (Monday - Thursday) from 9am - 2pm, and runs from June 26th - August 3rd. Sessions are split into 2 week increments and you may sign your child up for multiple sessions if you so choose. Summerfest is open to all Region 6 students of all ability levels in grades 2 - 8. The cost is $75 per week per child with transportation available from central locations for participants. July 5-7 is a shortened week and costs $50.
Summerfest features tons of fun, daily activities led by a team of peer leaders, which include: outdoor sports, classic camp games, arts and crafts, music and drama, water carnivals, cooking, gardening, STEM, dance, team building games, and much more.
