Boys Basketball Wins Thanksgiving Tournament
The Huskies opened the tournament by playing Jackson-Olin in their first round game. Hewitt got off to a fast start and led 32-17 at halftime. Coach Thomas' team continued to play well in the second half and won 65-40.
The Huskies played McAdory in the semifinal round. McAdory led 17-14 after the first quarter, but Hewitt stormed back to take a 35-32 lead into halftime. The Huskies pushed the lead to 20 after three quarters and went on to win 76-59.
Hewitt (5-1) will be back in action on December 1 as they travel to Oak Mountain.
Girls Basketball Falls in Bryant Bank Tournament Final
The Hewitt-Trussville Girls Basketball team lost to Spain Park 62-55 on Tuesday November 21 in the championship game of the Bryant Bank Thanksgiving Tournament. The teams went back and forth in the first half with both teams hitting big shots. The Huskies went on a run in the second quarter and took a four point lead into the locker room. Spain Park responded to take the lead in the 3rd quarter. Hewitt battled in the final quarter, but the Jaguars put the game away with some late free throws. London Coleman led the Huskies in scoring with 24 points.
In the opening round, the Huskies started the tournament by beating Briarwood 70-40. Hewitt controlled the game throughout as Erica Jones led the way with 22 points.
In the tournament semifinals, the Huskies defeated Lee-Montgomery 79-67. Coach Hunter's team trailed by one at halftime but came back in the third quarter to take control of the game. Leah Harrison hit four three-pointers on her way to a team high 23 points. Amiya Payne added 17 points for the winning team.
The Huskies now have a 7-1 record on the year. They will next be in action on December 1 as they travel to Oak Mountain.

Boys Swimming to Compete in AHSAA State Meet
The Hewitt-Trussville Boys Swimming team will travel to Auburn this weekend to compete in the AHSAA State Meet. The Huskies have a team record of 29-5 this season. They are coming off a 6th place finish at the AHSAA Sectional meet. The State meet will be held on Friday and Saturday at the James E. Martin Aquatics Center. The following athletes qualified for the State meet:
Drake Amick: 200 IM, 100 Fly, 200 Medley Relay and 400 Free Relay
Will Bradley: 400 Free Relay
Brandt Gooden: 50 & 100 Free, 200 Medley Relay and 400 Free Relay
Caleb Knox: 100 & 200 Free, 200 Medley Relay and 400 Free Relay
Noah Weissgerber: 200 Medley Relay
Head Coach Molly Jones said, "I am proud of the swimmers we had qualify for state. They have worked extremely hard this year and I am very excited to see how they swim."

Wrestling: Hewitt Duals Recap
The Hewitt-Trussville Wrestling team hosted the Hewitt Duals on November 22. The Huskies welcomed 14 teams for the event. Teams were split into four different pools to compete in three separate dual matches. Teams were then split into one of four brackets. Overall, each team had five matches against other schools. The Huskies won three matches and lost two matches for the day.

Bowling Preps for Busy Week
The Hewitt-Trussville Bowling teams will be back in action this week. The Boys team currently has a 6-3 record and the Girls team has a 5-4 record. Both teams are 4-1 in area play.
On Tuesday the teams will travel to Oak Mountain Lanes for the Warrior Classic. Teams participating include: Auburn, Hoover, Ramsay, Southside-Gadsden, The Capitol School, Thompson, Valley, and Vestavia.
On Thursday, the Huskies will return to Sparetime in Trussville as they host Gardendale.
