Meaningful Homework for Grades 6-12
Perspectives from a Teacher, Instructional Coach, and Parent
What are your thoughts about homework? The homework debate has been a topic of conversation for years even before social media brought it visible for all to see. Whether you feel there should be more or less homework, making homework meaningful is everyone's goal. Spend time with Michele Luck, a former teacher, instructional coach, and parent, as well as other teachers who share your concerns and interest. We will read the experts' research and discuss and discover the best ways to bring this debate to a close by expanding meaningful learning beyond the classroom walls.
Workshop Objectives:
- Visit and understand both sides of the homework debate. (Is the homework essential to classroom learning or disruptive to innate learning?)
- Learn to set the stage for intrinsic learning at school and discover ways to support inspired learning at home.
- Collaborate with parents and colleagues to develop a plan to improve homework completion.
We look forward to seeing you at the Southern Indiana Education Center for this enlightening and thought-provoking day with Michele Luck.
