Peek At The Week!
Week of 2/18/20
Principal's Message...
I hope you all enjoyed a restful and wonderful winter recess. It will be another busy, but short week this week! We will be looking at our RICAS - Grade Level Data for ELA/Math, this week at our faculty meeting. Please bring your laptops. We will be accessing the data/released items through technology.
Thank you for our successful MOY data meetings last week! I am always so impressed with the level of discussion regarding student achievement for all students. I would also like to send a big shout out to our incredible intervention team- THANK YOU for conducting these meetings with smiles, humor and professionalism. They are very busy days for you and I want to acknowledge and appreciate your dedication and commitment to making them so successful. Thank you <3
We will continue setting up behavior support planning sessions to support our tier 3 students. Our next planning session will be on Wednesday, from 1pm-3pm. Lynn, Liz and I, along with essential staff, will review PBPs, IEPs and 504s to see how we can better support our struggling students. Calendar invites will continue to be sent out, as we work our way through this list of students. If you need any support with creating or documenting PBPs in TieNet for students who are not responding to your whole classroom management plans, (tier 2 or tier 3) please reach out and we can support you.
As a reminder, please continue to review emergency procedures with students. We will need to conduct an obstructed fire drill in the month of February.
We will begin the new lanyard system for pick-ups at dismissal, beginning the week of 2/24.
You will receive a hanger with pick-up lanyards each day. Please be sure all pick-up students have their lanyards at dismissal. If you need any support with this process, please reach out to me as soon as possible. If a student does not have their lanyard, they will need to go to the main office to be signed out.
If students are pick-ups for the day, the office will issue them a "RED- TODAY ONLY" Pick-Up Lanyard. They will print authorized releases on the back of the lanyard.
At our last PBIS meeting, we discussed using Student Ambassadors to help deliver lanyards to you each morning. We are open to any suggestions to make this system stronger or more efficient and welcome all feedback!
Wishing everyone a great, short week!
With respect and appreciation,
~Kim
