Save Coppell!

What is happening...

People are ignoring exactly what is going on around them. They aren't fully opening their eyes to the world and something needs to be done about this. People litter and think that it doesn't affect or hurt anyone in any way but it actually does. People, purposefully, throw away recyclable materials just because the trash can is closer or because they don't "feel like it." The cruelest of all people dump liquids, solids, and their trash in the ocean with out even a care in the world. Well, I am here to tell you that it does matter and that these despicable things actually do affect our ecosystem.

What we can do to help...

One way to help the environment is to first, buy products with the least amount of packaging as possible so that nothing really goes to waste. Doing this prevents it from entering into the waste stream and saves the energy needed to produce it, then recycle or dispose of it. Another way to help is to either re-use grocery bags or bring you're own grocery bags whenever you go shopping. This way, plastic is saved and can be used for something else instead of ending up in a landfill. Plastic takes hundreds or even thousands of years to decompose. In this way we save space and the petroleum used to make the bags. Finally, we can recycle. If you have used a product to a limit, and it is recyclable, then put it into the recycling bin, not the trash. Recycling breaks down the material you recycle to make the same material again in a new form. You can also pick up other's people trash or litter. So please, help make the Earth a better place!
