Welcome to week 6 of our school year!

Hello PVM community,

We are making the best of a difficult situation by working together in a remote setting. Staying positive, establishing routines and staying healthy will keep us moving together as a team. We are here to assist all of our families as needed. Once again here are some helpful hints:

1) Wake up at a consistent time each day

2) A quiet space set up for learning

3) Please be present for the live Zooms

4) If you have questions then reach out to the teacher right away

5) Go to https://sites.google.com/battlegroundps.org/pvm-online/home for important updates

6) For student tech support please call 1-360-885-5465

7) Take breaks between classes and during non direct teaching class times

Thank you and have a great weekend!

iReady Assessments

Hello PVM families.

It is very important that students finish their iReady assessment. If your student has not finished, please have them log on and do the assessment. All students need to complete the reading and math assessment. This assessment is not graded and is used to measure what your students know and what they need to learn.

To access the assessment the students sign in through Clever. Watch the video below on how to log into Clever.

Logging in to Clever in Spanish Logging into Clever in English

After you log into Clever, scroll down and click on the iReady icon and choose reading or math. The iReady icon looks like this:

Notes From The Nurse

Hello Parents and Families,

Just a couple of reminders from PV campus school nurse, Nancy Boldt:

Flu shots are becoming more readily available, and it is recommended that everyone get theirs. During a pandemic, like we are currently experiencing with Covid 19, it is important that every measure is taken to avoid other illnesses, such as flu and illnesses that can be prevented. It is also important to reduce the risk of getting other illnesses, by making sure our immunizations are up to date. This effort is to maintain and/or improve our personal health and decrease the risk of overloading health care facilities, such as hospitals.

Please continue OR start social distancing, wearing a mask, washing hands frequently and other measures that help us protect ourselves and others.

Returning to school, even in a hybrid model, is dependent upon our county’s number of positive cases of Covid being less than 76 per 100,000 people for a specified amount of time. You can find more information regarding this on the Battle Ground Public School website.

NEW COURSES STARTING NOW!

Dear families of Battle Ground Public Schools,

We are pleased to share that the next round of Parent Academy with three new courses begins Monday, Oct. 5. These online classes are specifically designed to help you navigate and understand the tools that your students will use during remote learning. The classes are taught via Zoom by the district's own technology education trainers and coaches.

The classes focus on helping parents and guardians understand the curricula, technologies and instructional practices that our teachers use for instruction so that parents can help at home.

You can see the schedule of classes for the next two weeks and read the course descriptions below. Sign up for classes using our Parent Academy Google Form. An invitation to the Zoom class will be sent to your email address at least 24 hours prior to the start of your selected session(s).

We have pages dedicated to Google Classroom, Zoom, and Seesaw as well as our Parent Academy sessions. This website is posted to the district website, shared during our Parent Academy sessions, and will be shared out with families in the next district communication, but we wanted to share with all of you as a resource to share as well. Family and Community Resource Center

Battle Ground Public Schools’ Family and Community Resource Center (FCRC) helps meet the needs of families faced with housing instability and similar economic challenges.

While a main goal of the FCRC is to assist families experiencing housing instability, it can also help connect families with many other types of resources and is intended to respond to the changing needs of the community.

The FCRC is a continuation of the district’s joint efforts with the Battle Ground Education Foundation, an all-volunteer, nonprofit community organization whose purpose is to leverage community resources to help maintain quality education for all students in Battle Ground schools.

The Family Resource Guide is full of contacts to aid families in connecting with agencies who are able to help with a great variety of needs. Please click the link below to view this helpful guide.
