FILTERING EXTENSION FOR CHROMEBOOKS
Attention Parents:
Beginning Thursday, September 19th, all middle and high school student chromebooks will have the same filtering while off campus as they do when at school. This filtering extension has been successfully piloted at the intermediate schools and does not affect instructional usage of the device in any way.
Please remind your student that district issued devices are for instructional purposes and should not be tampered with in any way to circumvent content filters that are in place for their protection. A copy of the Mobile Device Guide and Internet Acceptable Use Agreement is available on the Instructional Technology website.
The District Issued Mobile Device Guide currently states, “District internet filters are only applied when using District Five internet connections. Parents/guardians should take precautions to filter and monitor home or public internet usage.” With this extension in affect, it is still very important for parents/guardians to monitor and be aware of student internet usage while off campus.
If students experience any problems with their device, they should report them to the school's tech desk as soon as possible.
IMPORTANT CMS CARLINE REMINDERS
Parents, please do not drop-off or pick-up your student in the school parking lot or Portrait Hill parking lot if you do not live in Portrait Hill. All student drop-off and pick-up takes place in our carline to ensure the safety of all involved.
The PTO fast passes for the 1st 9 weeks have been drawn. Congratulations to our two fast pass winners! Please help ensure the PTO Fast Pass spaces are available for these lucky winners between the hours of 8-9 AM and 3-4 PM.
