Senate Positions

President & Pro Tempore- The Lt. Governor is the President who only votes if there is a tie. The Pro Tempore fills in for the President if he can't attend.


Majority & Democratic Leader- The Cheif spokespeople of their parties that manage and arrange business in the Senate.


Majority Whip- Enforce party members to vote according to the party policy.


Democratic & Republican Caucus Secretary- Takes notes and aids the party leadership.


Principal Clerk- Responsible for administrative duties of the senate and maintains reports.


Sergeant at Arms- A legislative official who maintains order and security.


Reading Clerk- Reads bills, motions, papers, and calls for a vote.

House of Representatives Positions

Speaker & Pro Tempore- Controls debating and voting and appoints committie members.


Majority & Deputy Leader- Sets the floor agenda and oversees the committee agenda.


Majority Whip- Enforces party members to vote accordingly to party policy.


Conference Chair- Elect floor leaders, handle committee assignments, and set legislative priorities.


Joint Caucus Leader- Arranges meetings with both parties.


Freshman Caucus-Co Chairs- Party members who attend meetings.


Democratic & Deputy Leader- The Cheif spokespeople of their parties that manage and arrange business in the House.


Secretary- Takes notes and aids party leadership.


Executive Liaisons- Communicates between the two different houses.
