El Dorado Monday Memo
Week 12 November 4th, 2019
#ToroFamily
Hey everyone, I hope you all had a great weekend. It's November now...holy moly. This Friday is PRs for 2nd quarter and we are only 3 weeks away from Thanksgiving Break. WOW! Please continue to refresh and remind our students about their 3 Be's (Be Safe, Be Respectful and Be Responsible) and also keep in mind our staff 3 Bs as well (Bienvenido, Board, and Bell to Bell).
Just another reminder that we want to continue getting to know our students and building relationships with ALL students. You can view and add to our EDMS Student Body Relationships spreadsheet as we will continue to revisit this throughout the year.
Have a great week!

Academic language scripts are extremely effective for empowering students during collaborative conversations. They work even better when we make them a part of our daily routine, introducing them one at a time, according to our content needs. HERE is a list of scripts organized by specific tasks.

"Be present in all things and thankful for all things" Author and Poet, Maya Angelou
The month of November is a time to focus on being thankful. Our character word for this month is "Be Thankful".
-Help students start by focusing on 3 things they are thankful for.
-Have them write their 3 things on small piece of paper that they can carry with them
- Each time they start to have negative feelings or someone says something negative to them, remind them to look at their list and practice being thankful.
