Second Step Social Emotional Learning

Second Step Social Emotional Learning

This week students continued the Second Step Elementary digital program, a researched-based social-emotional learning program designed to improve children’s social-emotional skills. Second Step skills and concepts are designed to help children both in and out of school.

Cafe Update


Snacks are going great! They continue to be available daily for the students. You may load funds to your child’s account by sending payment with your child to school or through eFunds. Please make sure to include the child’s name and number on all payments that are sent into school.


Due to the national shortage of products, there might be changes to the menu. We are working hard at keeping the items as close to the menu as possible. We will inform the teachers of any menu changes and we will also post it on the NBE Facebook group page. We appreciate your patience. Please feel to reach out with any questions.

Mudsock Youth Athletics Updates

Recreational Basketball News:

  • Boys Basketball - Athletes in grades 2nd, 3rd and 6th will begin practicing this Saturday, October 30th. The 1st, 4th and 5th grade divisions will begin practice on November 6th. Please note the kindergarten division kicks off in January. More information here.
  • Girls Basketball - Athletes in kindergarten – 8th grade will take to the courts beginning Saturday, November 6th, for their first practices. We are excited to welcome a record number of female athletes. The league is finalizing team assignments and players should expect to hear from their coaches by early next week.

*Co-ed high school intramural basketball information will be released at the end of November.

Spring Program Registration:

Mark your calendars! Registration for spring baseball, softball, soccer, boys and girls lacrosse, rugby and track and field opens January 1st at myathletics.com. Season information including divisions and program fees will be updated on our site at the end of December. Need a refresher over our registration periods? Find them here.

Calling All High Schoolers! MYA is looking for high school volunteers to be youth coaches in our leagues. Find the flyer here.
