STREAMing Around the World

S.T.R.E.A.M. week: April 25-29

S.T.R.E.A.M. at CtR

Our vision is that our students have a deep academic knowledge in all subjects, as well as, the additional skills of critical thinking and problem solving, creativity and innovation, communication, collaboration, and entrepreneurship so they can truly be successful when they graduate college as young adults. We are building this foundation of skills by implementing S.T.R.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Art and Math) into the core curriculum and vision at Christ the Redeemer. We want to create students who are motivated, competent and creative at bringing forth solutions to tomorrow's problem while always maintaining our calling to be witnesses to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Monday: Career Day

Students will learn about different STREAM careers. They can come dressed for a career they would like to pursue when they grow up!

Tuesday: Family STREAM Night

It will be quite the night as we STREAM around the world...

The night will begin (6:00 p.m.) here at CtR with a few brief remarks from Father Sean and Principal Sierra. Next, we will travel back in time as fifth grade performs a choral style poetry reading of The Bells by Edgar Allen Poe. This will be followed up by first grades' performance on Biomes around the world. Next up will be The Mad Scientist who will dazzle us as we create our very own bungee jump and a spinning platform. Help us call out the Genie from its bottle and create beautiful music with a fiery reaction. Finally, we will visit CtR's very own art show featuring all the students artwork from around the world.

Please consider signing up to bring a dessert or snack from your family's heritage. Please use the following form to sign up:

Wednesday: Missions Around the World

After mass, students will get to hear speakers talk about their mission work in other countries. How did they build an oven for them to cook? How did they share their love of Christ? How can we help? These are just a few of the questions they will get answered and hopefully we will spark in them the desire to help people at home and all around the world.

Thursday: Field Trip Day

PK-5th grade students will be visiting the Houston Museum of Natural Science.

6th grade students will be visiting the Nano-tech Lab at Rice University.

Permission Slips going home Friday, April 8th.

Friday: Field Day

Students will compete in an array of games. Think Olympics. Think fun!
