Math
New unit this week...financial literacy! The students will explore how adults and money interact! These are the learning objectives:
*Explain the connection between human capital/labor and income
*describe the relationship between the availability or scarcity of resources and how the impacts costs
*explain that credit is used when wants or needs exceed the ability to pay and that it is the borrower's responsibility to pay it back to the lender, usually with interest
*list reasons to save and explain the benefit of a savings plan, including for college
Please continue Think Through Math and multiplication fact fluency at home as much as possible!
ELAR
Students are continuing to review their reading comprehension skills as we move throughout the year. This week we'll specifically be focusing on drawing conclusions and finding the main idea. We'll continue to show students what inferring is and how we do it using our schema and text clues.
In Writing, students will focus on stretching their sentences by adding more details. We will also keep focusing on sentence structure in grammar with review of compound sentences and writing complete sentences.
Science
Social Studies
Students will be focusing on state and national heroes. They will research important facts and compare and contrast the different impacts they have had on our local and national culture. This week, we will focus on Hector P. Garcia, James A. Lovell, John "Danny" Olivas, and Todd Beamer.
