Mrs. Bath's News
April 27-May 1
This Week...
This week we learned about plants and finished off our letters, with the letter Z! We finished our final animal for our Animal ABC Book. The students will have a great animal book to take home with them at the end of the year. They have put a lot of hard work into them and it is fun to look back at letter Aa for Ant and see how much they have grown.
We also made our own greenhouses (plastic baggies) and planted green bean seeds. You can see them in the window as you walk by our classroom. We are hoping that they will sprout and grow well so that your child can take them home and plant them in a garden or pot at home. We have been learning about plants needs, as well as living and non-living.
In Writing Workshop, we are continuing our work on "How To" books. The children have decided to help out the kindergartners for next year, by writing books like, "How To Make a Friend", "How To Get a Hot Lunch" and "How To Use a Locker". I'm sure they will be very helpful next year!
In Math, we are continuing to work in our math stations playing math games and practicing skills taught during math. We are also working on solid shapes, addition and subtraction fluency and breaking numbers into tens and ones. They are doing such great work and have show such wonderful growth this year!
I will be out Wednesday and Thursday next week for a school related meeting and a conference.
