Here We Grow
A lot has been going on at the ECC this week! Get ready for a lot of cute photos of your students. Don't forget that this week is spirit week! A flyer was sent home on Friday describing each day. We can't wait to show some school spirit.
We Love Our Bus Drivers!
This week was School Bus Safety Week and we decided to show our appreciation to the bus drivers and aides. We did something special every day to show them how much they mean to us! Everything from chapstick and sweet treats, to lottery tickets and handwritten notes from the students!
Red Ribbon Week
This past week was also Red Ribbon Week. Red Ribbon Week is all about keeping communication open with your students about keeping up with a healthy lifestyle and preventing the use of alcohol, tobacco, drugs, and violence. It is recognized in the U.S. for one week every year in October.
The button below will bring you to a page with a lot of tips about how to talk to your students about this tough subject. It is broken down by ages so just click on the age range of your children and start talking! It's never too early to talk about making good choices!
Lockdown Drill
On Friday we had our very first Lockdown Drill. It is so important to always be prepared for any situation! Teachers explained to students that we were just practicing in case something dangerous was happening outside of the school and we needed to keep everyone safe. We were all so impressed with how great the students handled this drill!
Be sure to talk with your student about the drill to connect school with home and remind them that it is important to always be prepared and safe.

Working on fine motor skills with pumpkins and tools
Mrs. Myers' class helped to show Mrs. Hoppel's class how to document what they noticed about pumpkins.
Mrs. Garrabrant's class went on a leaf hunt and made pictures using the leaves!
They loved being outside.
Miss Riggs' class investigated pumpkins this week too! They painted them...
..and they got to see if they floated!
Mrs. Myers' class created a book for another class to learn about pumpkins.
They also got to explore the insides of pumpkins too!
Preschoolers have been doing so great walking to their classrooms on their own in the mornings! They are becoming so independent!
Mrs. Garrabrant and Miss Riggs did another color mixing experiment recently! The students loved using their scientific goggles.
Miss S' students are still loving the sensory path! It's still so fun even with socks on.
