Prayer
Perhaps the story of the prodigal son is such a time. As Pope Francis wrote: "Why complicate something so simple?" (EG,194)
Jesus was a brilliant storyteller. Everyone knows that. This brilliant story - of a son gone wrong and a son always right, of a father full of irrational, unstoppable love - is only found in Luke's Gospel, know for its themes of mercy, compassion, and forgiveness. Here Jesus shares with us his own view of the depths of his father's mercy.
When you read and reflect on this story, you don't have to identify yourself with one son or the other. We are always both sons, we are always both faithful and unfaithful. We are always the one he runs to, embraces and kisses, even when we may still be "a long way off." And we are always the one to whom he proclaims eternally: "Everything I have is yours."
From The Principal
Dear Parents/Guardians,
This Saturday our second grade students will be receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation. We wish them all the best with the reception of this Sacrament as they prepare for First Communion. We also have our School Family Mass on Sunday, and we look forward to seeing as many families as possible at the 9am Mass as we come together as a community to celebrate our faith.
Student Reconciliation
From Wednesday, March 9th to Friday, March 11th, students from grades 3 to 8 will have the opportunity for Reconciliation.
Congratulations
Our basketball teams have been playing very well this season, and we ended up with seven teams in the playoffs, and four of those teams made it to the championships. I wish to thank the coaches and the Athletic Board for their dedication to the sports program at All Souls. So far this week we have taken two championship games. We have another game on Saturday.
Re-Enrollment
By now all families have received the re-enrollment email enabling you to re-enroll your child/children for the next school year. You will be introduced to our new School Information System "SchoolSpeak" for this process. Please ensure you read all the instructions as you proceed through the re-enrollment online forms. If you have any enquires about the process please do not hesitate to email Mrs. Cierra at info@ssfallsoulsschool.org or call her at 650 583 3562.
The re-enrollment is to be completed by Tuesday, March 15th. If there are any issues please contact Mrs. Cierra or myself.
School Projects
We are currently looking at obtaining quotes for replacement of the school roof as well as investigating the option of switching to solar for the school/parish. We will be replacing the preschool heating/cooling system over the Easter break.
Annex
We have a number of nice conference type chairs that we wish to give away so that we can start to use the rooms on the second floor of the annex. The also is some bedroom furniture that families are welcome to. Please contact the office if you would like to take these things.
Presidential Award Changes
The Presidential Award process has been changed this year, and only 8th grade students will be eligible for the two Presidential Awards. We have received notification from the organization that organizes these awards that the award criteria also have been revised.
Academic Decathlon
Our 8th grade students will be at St. Pius School on Saturday participating in the Archdiocese Academic Decathlon. There will be roughly 12 schools competing in this prestigious event. We wish our 8th grade students all the best on Saturday.
Early Dismissal - Monday March 7th
Students will be dismissed at 2.30pm on Monday, March 7th.
Parent Fun Night - Adult Only Affair
On Saturday, March 19th, the School Board is sponsoring the Second Annual Molloy's Fun Night. I would encourage all parents and friends to join us at this event. Even if you have not been to it before or to other school functions, it will be a great opportunity to meet other parents and have fun as a school community. I look forward to seeing as many parents at this event as possible.
God Bless,
Vincent Riener

Lenten Mass Attendance
The Missionary Childhood Association (MCA) follows the vision of its founder Bishop Forbin-Janson – “children helping children.” After learning about the great needs of the world’s poorest children, young people are invited to pray and to offer financial help so that children in the missions today may know Christ and experience His love and care.
Students are receiving a Lenten Mission Box today in which to save spare change that can be contributed to the MCA to help children around the world. We ask that students return the boxes to their homeroom teachers during the final week of classes before Easter break.
In the words of our Pope, we encourage parents, as the primary educators of their children, to promote this Lenten spirit of giving. “I encourage educators to cultivate in the little ones the missionary spirit, so that there may arise from among them witnesses of the of the tenderness of God and announcers of his love.” – Pope Francis, Solemnity of the Epiphany 2015
