Kindness Week
Just a quick note of thanks. I appreciate Kayce sharing her passion for promoting kindness this past week! Watching our kids participate through lunchtime activities was great. however, I think perhaps the best part of the week was hearing the stories from our LaCreole family, mostly staff about how kids had reached out to them to do something kind or share a note of appreciation. This was a result of a lot of work on Kayce's part which added to our culture of positive character and relationship building.
I realize that we live in a middle school and kids often have a hard time choosing kindness, but this is why we all need to be reminded from time to time of its power. Thanks for all your positive vibes, this is a great place to be!
Glad you’re here!

BRD Information
Okay everyone...
Accounting for the now 1/2 BR day on March 1 has taken on many forms primarily because it is not a student contact day. Here are the decisions that came from our admin meeting this week.
Related to ALL staff
- 1/2 of the BR day has been given back. This equals 1/2 day of each individuals' daily work schedule. 8hr employees receive 4hrs back work time. 5.5hr employees receive 2.75 hrs back for work time, and so on.
- Flexibility on when the work is performed will be allowed under the following guidelines.
- 1/2 work day hours performed on a different day or combination of days as long as it is within the same week
- different day work hours are communicated and approved by building administrator
- Working half the day is optional. If staff want to still take the full day, they can.
Licensed
If using leave for their 1/2 day (4hrs), the leave will be written on the Personnel Absence Report. If the 1/2 BR day is not on the Personnel Absence Report, Sharrell will automatically calculate the 4 hrs no pay. This has been the practice for previous BR days this year.
Classified
Will account for 1/2 their work schedule day as a BR day on the Mar 1 date on their timesheet. They are able to take no pay or use leave (vacation, miscellaneous or comp time earned) if they have leave available. If they choose to work the 1/2 day on a different day of that week, be sure they account for the extra hours on the actual day the hours are worked and only document the BR day hours in the Mar 1 cell.
So isn't that about as clear as mud....let me know if I can clarify further or if there are scenario's not yet anticipated.
Thank you!
Debbie
