As a reminder, if you have questions for our specials teachers, please reach out to them directly. This will help to maximize efficient communication.
We hope that you will come support our elementary choir as they sing the National Anthem on May 6th at the Phillies game! Please see below for details.

Lessons of the Week!
Mrs. Smith's 6th grade
Dr. Sarah Levin Allen spoke to Mrs. Smith's 6th grade class in honor of neurodiversity week! Dr. Allen is a neuropsychologist and has students at Glenview. Today, she discussed with students how the brain works, and highlighted what ADHD and autism look like in the brain. Students also had the opportunity to see and hold a real brain! Thank you to Dr. Allen for spending her time today with our 6th grade class.
Mrs. Klaus' Kindergarten
After wrapping up a weeks long discussion about weather, we had fun with a couple of science experiments. First we talked about tornados and how they form when cold and hot air combine, creating a funnel. This experiment “tornado in a jar” was created using water, dish soap and vinegar. The kids loved seeing the funnel recreated in the jar.
Secondly, we talked about rain clouds. We explained that when clouds get too saturated with water, the water falls down as rain. In our “rain cloud in a jar” experiment, we used shaving cream to represent the clouds. Food coloring was then added which seeped through and fell through the jar as rain.
Elementary Choir at the Phillies!
The elementary choir will be performing the National Anthem at the May 6th Phillies game! This event is open to all Haddon Heights families. Please support our choir by attending-tickets are $20 each. Please see the attached flyer for more details as the deadline for ordering tickets is tomorrow, 3/31!!!
Nurse's Update
Nurse and Covid Updates:
Absences: When you are calling the school to report your student absent, please include the reason for the absence (covid like symptoms, vacation, stomach ache, etc.) Otherwise, you will be receiving a phone call or email to confirm the reason for absence.
Also, according to a recent CDC update, for a student who has Covid like symptoms, a negative covid will be required to return to school.
Please be reminded that students must be fully vaccinated in order to avoid quarantine if exposed. In accordance with the Department of Health guidance, an individual is considered up to date after having received all recommended doses, including a booster dose when eligible. Fully vaccinated means at least two weeks past the completion of the series and a booster if applicable. Please ensure that the school nurse has a copy of your child’s vaccination card if applicable to avoid unnecessary quarantine.
If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Bolletino at bolletit@gogarnets.com or Mrs. Hughes at hughest@gogarnets.com

Lunch Orders
As you know, the school lunches are free. As the students enter their classrooms, the teacher will ask each student if they brought lunch from home or if they are getting a school lunch. The teachers will take the students' school lunch orders based on the menu choices for that day. The menus are located on the school website. If the student is getting a school lunch for that day, we will assume that you approved your child to receive and consume the school lunch.
