New Course Proposal
New Course Proposals will be reviewed this fall and considered for implementation for the 2019-2020 school year. The deadline for proposing new courses is Friday, November 2nd. These proposals will be reviewed by the new course review committee, submitted to the Cabinet for review and hopefully will be recommended to the Board and approved at the December board meeting.
I have attached the new course proposal form and criteria used to review the proposals. Please make sure the subject coordinator has seen the proposal for your course and signed it. If the coordinator has not signed the new course proposal, it will not be reviewed and will be sent back. All requested information on the form must be completed.
The committee uses the following criteria to select the proposed new courses:
* Student curricular and campus level course need
* Alignment to TEKS
* Graduation requirements
* Scheduling options
* Student enrollment predictions
* Staffing
* Technology requirements
* Facility requirements
* Staff development
* Budget requirements
Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions! Please remember the deadline for proposals is Friday, November 2nd.
Thank you!
