Summer School

The summer school office emailed information regarding registration to all families on Thursday March 23rd. Unfortunately summer school is not at Hadfield this year but it is at Blair, Hawthorne, Heyer and Summit View schools. The dates for summer school are June 26th - July 21st with no school on July 3rd or July 4th.

Teacher recommendations for math and reading summer school were sent home this week so please ask your child if they received this form. If you have any questions regarding the recommendations please call Mrs. Roth at 262-970-1505.

When signing up for summer school classes the grade your child is in for the 2017-2018 school year is the grade you should use when determining class eligibility for the summer school course offerings.

Autism Awareness Month

April is Autism Awareness month! To represent our amazing students with Autism and bring awareness to all individuals with this developmental disorder, let’s all “light it up blue” on April 3rd by wearing blue.
CULVER'S NIGHT & PTO MEETING - APRIL 3RD

CULVER'S NIGHT & PTO MEETING - APRIL 3RD

The PTO meeting on April 3rd will be held at Culver's instead of the Hadfield Media Center. This is the Culver's next to Woodman's. Enjoy a meal at Culver's and support Hadfield School - a portion of the sales from the night help Hadfield School. Culver's Night is from 5:00pm - 8:00pm and the PTO meeting starts at 6:00pm. Hope to see you there!

Optimist Swim Team

The Annual Optimist Swim Meet was on Saturday March 18th at Waukesha South High School. Hadfield had a team of students from grades 3-5. We are very proud of these students and thank them for representing Hadfield in a positive way. Thanks to Coach Young for preparing the team for the meet.

Team members were Jade Castillo, Adam Derradj, Hunter Henning, Elena Lenhart, Elizabeth Pofahl, Seth Rawls, Claire Rottman, Marshall Vega, Brianne Wettstein, Ava Wettstein.

Hadfield swimmers placed in the following events:
2nd Place - 4th grade boys plunge - Adam Derradj
4th Place - 3rd grade girls 50 yd freestyle (1st place in heat) - Ava Wettstein

Dealing with Discipline

Parents Place will be holding a Dealing with Discipline program at Hadfield on Monday April 24th. This event sponsored by the Boys & Girls Club will begin at 6:00pm - 7:30pm in the Hadfield Media Center. A free dinner at 5:30pm in the Hadfield gym will be provided and Boys & Girls Club is offering free childcare. A sign up form will be sent home in the next few weeks.

Safety Drills

Each year schools are required to perform several safety drills throughout the year. We are required to have two lockout, two lockdown, two tornado drills and a monthly fire drill. We will be conducting a lockdown drill before the end of March. Students will be told in advance that this is a practice drill.

Just a reminder that the PTO Yankee Candle fundraiser ends on Monday April 3rd. Extra order forms are available in the office. Sorry no late orders will be allowed.

Forward Exam

This year, all Wisconsin students in grades 3-8 and 10 will once again participate in an assessment called the Forward Exam. These tests are designed to obtain important information about each student's achievement in the areas of math, science, social studies, english language arts: reading, writing and listening. In addition, these assessments will be a measure of state accountability for our school and our district. This year students at Hadfield will take the exam April 20th - April 28th. Hadfield Math Night

Thank you to all the students and parents who attended Math Night on March 16th. Great night of fun, parent involvement and learning!
WISN12 Shout Out

WISN12 Shout Out

On Tuesday March 7th Sally Serverson, meteorologist and Jason Hunter, photojournalist, from WISN12 visited Hadfield School to film the WISN12 School Shout Out. The segments will air Monday March 20th for Mr. Karnuth's class, Wednesday April 5th for Mrs. Clavette's class and Monday April 10th for Mrs. Haynes. The School Shout Outs usually air around 5:20am and 6:20am but sometimes the times change due to the news of the day. Please record all of WISN12 News This Morning from 4:30am - 7:00am so you don't miss it.

Items from Home

Parents please talk with your child about items from home that are being brought to school and causing a distraction during the school day. The following items should remain at home: makeup/lipstick/nail polish, all toys, cell phones, all trading cards and playground toys such as balls and bats. These items should stay at home and will not be allowed in the classroom, playground or lunchroom. Thank you for your support with this.

Trimester 2 report cards are now ready to view in Infinite Campus. If you need help accessing it in Infinite Campus please don't hesitate to call the Hadfield Office at 262-970-1505. Paper copies can also be requested.

Open Enrollment

Open Enrollment

Wisconsin’s inter-district public school open enrollment program allows parents to apply for their children to attend school districts other than the one in which they live. The open enrollment application period for the 2017-2018 school year is from February 1-April 29, 2017. The application period closes at 4:00 p.m. on April 28, 2017. Late applications will not be accepted for any reason.

Parents may apply in one of two ways:

  • On-line (recommend) at http://dpi.wi.gov/sms/psctoc.html

  • Although an on-line application is recommended, paper applications may be obtained from the Department of Public Instruction or any school district. Paper applications must be delivered to the nonresident school district. School District of Waukesha applications should be submitted attention to:

Who needs to complete this process:

  • Students currently attending a Waukesha school via Tuition Waiver for the 2016-2017 school year.

  • Students who have changed residency to a non-Waukesha address between September 1st and February 3rd.

  • Students planning to move into an address that is outside of the School District of Waukesha between February 1 and September 1, 2017; and wish to stay in the School District of Waukesha.

Note: families that move unexpectedly after April 28th are able to complete a Tuition Waiver form for the following year.
