Catholic Schools Mass
Catholic Schools Week is an annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States. The purpose of the week is to highlight the value Catholic education provides to families, the Church, communities and the nation.
Did You Know...
- The cost to educate each student at SJL is $7,548.
- Our tuition rate for Catholic families is $5,325.
- The difference is subsidized through the generosity of SJL parishioners (37% of offertory income comes directly to our school).
To kick-off CSW, we thank our Lord and parish family for the gift of our Catholic school. Every family can get involved! You can:
- Celebrate Mass in person by emailing parishoffice@sjlparish.org no later than 3pm on Thursday, January 28th. Include your family name, number attending & Mass preference (4:30 Saturday, 8:00 or 10:30 Sunday). COVID protocols will be sent separately.
- Join us virtually to offer your prayers during the live stream Mass at 10:30 Sunday morning. The live stream can be found on the St. John LaLande Catholic Church Facebook page.
- Briefly share why your family chose Catholic education so we can share our stories with the parish at each of the Masses. Please send your "why we chose Catholic education" statements to Mrs. Wright for inclusion in the bulletin!
Students joining us for Mass are welcome to participate in the entrance procession. We ask that students wear their uniforms to represent our school to the parish. With questions, contact Mrs. Mead in the school office.
Auction RESULTS!
The monies from the auction will be incorporated into our annual 1.5 million dollar budget to help finance salaries, benefits, books, teaching materials, etc. The approximately $28,000 raised in our Fund a Need will renovate bathrooms this summer. Part of the Fund a Need monies are earmarked for our angel fund. We have already received applications for those monies which are for families who have experienced financial loss during the school year and find it difficult to meet their tuition obligation.
A special shout out of THANKS for our co-chairs, Virginia Corbin and Jenny Luttrall!
Look for information soon about the 2021 auction! We are happy to announce that Sharon and Michael Nations have agreed to chair the 2021 event which we anticipate will be LIVE and in Person!
