Ryberg's Week at a Glance
March 4, 2016
These boots were made for walking!
Students wrapped up their animal adaptation unit by modifying a shoe for traveling to an environment they have been studying. During the process they researched and adapted their shoes according to needs for protection, camouflage, and locomotion.
The results were fantastic!!
This Arctic shoe actually repelled water!
Students in this group used a white crayon and a hair dryer to waterproof their shoe for protection from the snow.
Desert Shoe
All groups shared their adaptations.
Movement
Students discovered that some shoes needed traction, while others needed to be covered to keep the traveler quiet when studying locomotion.
Dr. Seuss
This week we also celebrated the start of March and, of course, everyone's favorite children's book author, Dr. Seuss. In addition to reading some of our favorites, we had two guest readers and we tied in some writing. What a fun day!
