1st Grade - Mrs. Lash's Class
We had an engaging week of learning at New Britton this week. It is difficult to believe that we have just finished our fifth week of school, halfway through our first 9 weeks. It is already evident that our children are continuing to build their identities as readers, writers, mathematicians, and investigators. This week, you received you child's NWEA report through ParentSquare. This is one data point to review when looking at the achievement and growth of children. Students will take this assessment again in December and May so that we can measure growth and create responsive instruction to match their needs. A sample student report is attached to the ParentSquare email. Please connect with your student's teacher if you have any questions.
Starting with tonight, the Fishers vs. HSE Mudsock Football game at 7:00 (FHS), and extending into next week, we have several opportunities to connect with other HSE and New Britton families. We would love to see you at one or more of these events.
- 9/9 - Mudsock Football game at FHS - 7:00p.m. Gates open at 5:45p.m. Our own Mrs. Lash will be recognized as the elementary and district teacher-of-the-year!

Also, don't forget that we have a New Britton Elementary spirit night at Victory Field on September 24 at 6:35. This will be a FUN event, and if you stay until the end, there will be a firework finale! We would like to thank our PTO for organizing these fun events to help families connect in a variety of ways.
As always, thank you for partnering with us in education! Have a restful weekend.
Sincerely,
Lori Mankin

Snack Attack - Fishers Youth Assistance Program
NBE is pleased to announce the return of the Snack Attack program for those students in need. This program, supported by the Fishers Youth Assistance Program, is designed to provide students a little extra nourishment for the weekend until they can receive a hot meal at school on Monday.
Here's how the program works. Your student will pick up a small sack of food to be taken home over the weekend. The sack is filled with individually wrapped snacks such as granola bars, fruit cups, pop tarts, peanut butter/crackers, Goldfish crackers, etc. The type of snacks will vary each week. Please let us know if your child has a peanut allergy as he/she will receive a special bag of peanut-free snacks.
There is no cost to you or the school. This program is open to students that qualify for the reduced lunch program or have an increased need currently.
To be part of this free program, you must sign up your family online. https://forms.gle/xrKNaxRaLypSqKvV8
