A Principal's Perspective
This week was a hugely successful first week of a great school year! It was also extra special due to an Olympic visitor coming on campus! In talking with Phyllis Francis about the support and encouragement she had growing up, it confirmed for me the importance of what we do at GP. Phyllis Francis was an elementary student about 15 years ago. Who was there to cultivate her dreams? Who was there to plant the seed of belief as she was growing up? I know that educators along with her parents were there to validate and encourage her that she can indeed accomplish her big dreams. All of our students have hopes and dreams of what they want to be when they grow up. What will we do as a faculty to be part of the success story for each of our students?
Be Innovative - Design the possibilities!

- Bus: 7:15 - Hold students at back door until 7:20.
- Morning Assembly, Cafeteria, Front Porch Drop Off: 7:20
- The students are following procedures during lunch time. The gradual release model of support is really effective even with teaching cafeteria expectations! Next week will be more of a release for our students. Classroom teachers, please help with monitoring by "cruising" the cafeteria before you stand by the exit door to line up your students. Having a teacher walk through, monitor and reinforce will help with the success of our students during lunch.
