Salk Seahawk Scoop
Week of September 6, 2021
Welcome Back Seahawks!
It's hard to believe that summer has come and gone, but we are eager for our Seahawks to return to the nest. We are committed to continuing to strive to meet the diverse needs of our students, both academically and social-emotionally. We look forward to continuing to partner with our families in order to ensure that all of our Seahawks soar into the new school year.
We understand that all of our Seahawks had diverse school experiences during the last 18 months. We also understand the variety of life experiences that many of our students faced. We empathize with all of our Seahawks and their families regarding the feelings they're experiencing about the return to school. Please know that when our Seahawks step foot in our building - we are community!
We're ready to welcome all of our Seahawks back with open arms and the promise of brighter tomorrows. Our hope is to continue building upon the many traditions that make Salk such a great place to learn and grow!
Sincerely,
Adam Fichter and the Salk Staff

FIND YOUR CHILD’S BUS STOP ONLINE
Bus stop information will be available online for the 2021–2022 school year starting August 30. You can access your child’s bus stop information by visiting www.fraser.k12.mi.us. Click on the "Bus Stops" link and enter your address to retrieve your child’s bus stop information.
It is very important to check your child’s bus stop, as routes have been modified for the 2021–2022 school year.
Students will be assigned a route number in lieu of a bus number. The route number is located on the left side of the entry door. To ensure transportation, all students must be at their bus stop 10 minutes prior to the scheduled arrival time. Please review with your child
the bus rules found on the Transportation Department’s website.

Health, Safety, & COVID-19 Communication
We hope our Sak families are staying healthy. Please continue to reach out to keep us updated about your family's health and notify the office if someone in your household tests positive for Covid-19 or if you find out that your child has been exposed to someone who has tested positive. This information will help mitigate the spread and keep our Salk community healthy.
FPS Mask Policies
Masks are optional for all staff, students and visitors on campus. We will have masks available in all of our buildings for anyone who needs one. Fraser Public Schools encourages everyone who is not fully vaccinated to wear a face covering. Facial coverings are a safe, and proven strategy to prevent secondary transmission of this aggressive Delta variant in schools. Masks are primarily intended to reduce the emission of virus-laden droplets. They also help reduce inhalation of these droplets by the wearer. We ask everyone to respect each individual’s choice whether or not to wear a mask.
Masks must be worn on Fraser Public School buses. The CDC requires masks to be worn on school buses.
Free Breakfasts & Lunches Continue
The State of Michigan will continue to provide a free breakfast and lunch for all student who wants them throughout the 2021-2022 school year. We will provide monthly calendars with scheduled meals as we have in the past, but families do not need to pre-order. Although note required, we do ask. that families complete the Lunch Application at www.LunchApp.com. By doing so you help ensure the school receives additional funding.
REPORT CARDS
If your child did not receive their report card at the end of last year, please contact the main office as soon as possible. It is possible your address needs updating in our system.
