Welcome to the Prairie Point Panther Press!
News from the Art Room
We are off to a great start in the art room. Each grade level has a slightly different focus as the year moves forward. In August We work hard to establish routines and procedures that continue all their years at Prairie Point. Every art class begins with some listening time. We hear books, find out about directions and learn what to expect for our time together. Next we move into the work time. This is when we make or continue with the lesson. Some days have more working time, others have less. We will be learning about many different types of media throughout the year during working time. We finish each art day with clean-up Each student has a job to do whether its carrying the tool box or straightening the papers or checking the floor for lost tools. We all have a responsibility to help cleanup.
We recycle markers of all kinds at Prairie Point! They can be Crayola brand, dry erase, permanent of any size or company. Used and tired markers from class as well as from home are kept in a box in the back of the art room. Once the box is filled, I ship it to Crayola. Crayola pays the shipping! They are melted down and used again. If you find tired and used up markers, you may send them to school with your child in a ziplock bag to add to our collection bin.
ARTfully yours, Mrs. Collins
