Showcasing Our Personal Best
Dear T.E.A.M.
With our first five-day week in front of us (4 with students), it's going to be a great week!
During advisory on Monday and Tuesday morning, we will wrap up our Welcome Back pod meetings with our students. While we do our best to be brief and direct with our message, if there are specific items that you'd like us to cover, please let me know.
On Tuesday, we will welcome representatives from the NYS Middle School Association Schools to Watch program for a school visit. Just last week, they contacted me to coordinate a visit with us. I expect to meet with them for awhile and give a tour of our building. This visit aligns with a number of the school-based projects we are doing this year, and will serve to support priorities that will help us grow as a school. So if you see us in the hallways or in classrooms, please keep your focus on doing what you do best, with our students.
On Thursday night, we'll host our parents for our PTO Meeting and Open House. I'm certain you've spent time planning and coordinating your talking points for Thursday. For anyone who is looking for a focal point, please consider the following three points:
1. Be yourself.
2. Share your passion for teaching.
3. Share what you love about working with students at the middle level.
Remember, you will only have seven minutes per period, so keeping these ideas central to your presentation will do what it intended that night : build a positive school-home relationship.
If there's anything that I can do to support you this week or on Thursday night, please don't hesitate to ask. I'm here for you.
Thanks for your hard work and your dedication to our students and middle school program.
Dennis
