This year the student council decided to have students vote on the 10 most Spirited students in their class. Then next week students will pick 2 of the ten names. It is called Cougar Court and the 2 students chosen from each grade will be called Spirit Duo's. Student Council felt voting this way leaves the couple from each class open ended... it can be a boy/girl, boy/boy or girl/girl.

Annual Notices and Policies

New York State requires all school districts to annually notify parents/guardians of specific laws and/or regulations.

Note from the Superintendent

The 2022-23 school year started off last week, and we have had an excellent start. Each year finding new routines, setting the tone, and building excitement for what is possible all occur within the first few weeks of school. We have had excellent attendance by our student body. Research and our experience in HF-L clearly link attendance to both achievement and happiness. We have seen some COVID cases during the opening of school. This is now to be expected. The school district, is sending home COVID-19 tests that are required to be provided by NYSDOH. These tests are for your use as a family. Please refer to the operational guidance provided to schools or contact the school nurse with any questions you may have https://www.hflcsd.org/page/operational-guidance-for-k-12-schools-and-early-care-and-education-programs-to-support-safe-in-person-learning

We encourage you and your families to be engaged during our upcoming Fall Weekend activities. These activities combine the celebration of our alumni with the celebration of our future alumni. The activities, parades, and pride are wonderful examples of civic pride. Again, we are off to a great start and look forward to seeing you on campus throughout the school year.

-Gene Mancuso, Superintendent of Schools

Photo, Video Consent

Throughout the school year, photographs or videos may be taken of students for use in Honeoye Falls-Lima CSD produced social media, publications, videos, podcasts, and web pages, or by the news media. If you do not wish your child to be photographed or videotaped, you must indicate this in writing to your child(ren)'s school principal(s) by no later than 14 days from this notice. E-mail does not constitute a written request; please type it on paper, sign, and mail/deliver. If you have children in multiple buildings, you will need to submit a letter to each child's principal. This request must be updated annually. Be sure to include all instances in which you do not want your child's image used.

2022-23 School Calendars

You should have received a printed copy of the 2022-23 school calendar, which was sent home with your youngest child on the first day of school. If you did not receive a calendar, please contact the main office of your youngest child's school building and request a copy.

LifeTrack Services

LifeTrack Services is a company the District works with to compile postgraduate data. LifeTrack Services are currently making post-graduation follow-up calls to HF-L graduates and families of HF-L graduates. Lifetrack Services also mails notices about surveys to our graduates, follows up with phone calls, as well as provides a database service for graduates to keep their contact information current for reunion purposes. If you receive a call from them, Lifetrack is a legitimate company, trusted by HFLCSD.

Free and Reduced Lunch Application

Did you know that your family might qualify for the free and reduced meals even if you haven't in the past? The income eligibility guidelines have expanded. Please take a look to see if you qualify.

Children need healthy meals to learn. The Honeoye Falls-Lima Central School District offers healthy meals every school day. For the 2022-23 school year, breakfast costs $1.80 and lunch costs $3.05.

Your family may be eligible for free or reduced-price school meals. Fill out the application below to see if your family qualifies. The application as well as the instructions for the application can also be found on the Food Services website at https://www.schoolnutritionand... as well as in the District calendar which is sent home on the first day of school with the youngest in the household.

Did you know applying for free and reduced meals financially helps not just our food service department, but the district as a whole?
