The childhood of James oglethorpe
James Oglethorpe is the founder of Georgia. Years afterwards when he helped found and colonize Georgia. He would serve as the general of the forces. In 1739, he was involved in the war of Jenkins Ear.During that war they fought between Britain and Spain as a part of a larger conflict. The War of Jenkins Ear lasted through 1739 - 1748, with major operations largely ended by 1742. The seeds of conflict begin with a separation from an ear.

Religion
George Whitefield was the prominent english preacher in the early 18th century. He founded bethesda, which was a home for orphans near Savannah in the 1740's he was also a major evangelist for the Anglicans church. Bethesda continued until 1805, when it burned down but was revived in 1855.
