LOST & FOUND - LAST CALL
We do not have a Lost & Found area inside the school this year, so items found around the school or on the playground are being placed in a plastic bin with a lid marked LOST & FOUND and will be located near Door #21. Please check the bin if you are missing any items. ITEMS NOT PICKED UP WILL BE DONATED NEXT WEEK!
Picture Retake Day
Hello from your Elementary Counselor, Mrs. McKiddy! With October being Anti-Bullying Awareness Month, we spoke with students about how to use our voice. We talked about how to support one another, how to stand up respectfully, and most importantly, how to do it in a way that makes everyone feel comfortable. Our theme of “Do Something” is carrying into the months of November and December: generosity and acts of kindness. If we can create a culture of kindness in our classrooms, our little learners are more likely to take risks, celebrate their individuality, and grow as people. To deepen this learning, create opportunities at home for spreading kindness and being generous. We know that in order to create a habit, we must create opportunities for repetition.
Let's Connect: If you are noticing some behaviors that are interfering with your child’s success in the classroom, please feel free to complete my parent referral form and we can work together to determine if supports are needed here at school.
More Resources: We also have our BAS Elementary Counseling website for ideas and resources to be used at home!

Spencer's annual food drive benefiting Bountiful Harvest is currently running. The last day to donate will be 12/1. Thank you so much for the donations so far! In addition to all of your donations, the PTO will be sending a $500 check to Bountiful Harvest. The grade earning the most food drive points will earn a small prize, so be sure to label donations with your child's grade. For bonus points, post a picture of your student(s) with the donation and his/her grade to the PTO Facebook page. BVA families can donate to the food drive too! If you would like to donate contact Emily at firstname.lastname@example.org to get info on drop off location/time. See flyer for more details on items needed. NO GLASS.
Here is the current leader board:
1st place - 3rd grade
2nd place (but not by much) - 4th grade
3rd place - 2nd grade
4th place - 1st grade
5th place - K/JK
BVA Spencer Item Pickup
BVA Families: If you were unable to make it last Wednesday to pick up photos, shirts, and books for your student(s) and would like them prior to the December pickup date (TBD), please email Jen Lumsden. She will arrange a time for you to pick things up!
Although we are unable to offer an in-person Holiday Shop this year, the tradition lives on virtually! This year we are able to offer a virtual Holiday Shop through the same company we have used for years, Fun Services. The shopping link will be open from November 30 through midnight on December 7. Gifts will ship directly to your home. This is not a fundraiser, but an opportunity to continue one of our favorite and most popular events at Spencer. See attached flyers for more information and helpful hints. Happy shopping!
