Teachers, I placed a room inventory sheet in your boxes this afternoon. Please verify the items on the room inventory with what you actually have. If the items on the sheet are no longer in your room, put a line through the item and state where the item went if you know. If you have received items that are not on the inventory, write the number of the item, and the name of the item at the bottom of the sheet. Sign the sheet and return it to me by next Friday. If you would like assistance with this task, e-mail me with a time that is good for us to go over the room inventory, and I will come to your room to help you locate and identify the items on the lists. Many of you may have had Tier 1 upgrades so your Tier 1 number and model will be different. Making these changes and catching up with the items that have been moved to other rooms is the reason for the inventory. Also, Onslow County is changing over to a new inventory system which does not reflect the changes that have been made over the past years. Thank you for your help and let me know if you want assistance with this room inventory.
From the EC Department Chair, Ms. Cassie Lanier
If you are sent an academic information sheet to complete on a student to help the EC case manager in writing an IEP please complete it in depth and provide as much information as possible. This information is a huge help to the EC Teacher while he/she is writing the IEP. Please provide in-depth feedback as you are an important part of the IEP as well.
Relay for Life Update
We will have a Nacho Bar Luncheon on March 28th in 107.
There will be an Easter Basket Silent Auction in building 1 and during the Musical next week. Please check it out. Any last minute donations would be greatly appreciated (especially Easter Candy).
From Ms. Tripp
One of our seniors gave me word this morning she has been accepted to The Parsons School of Design. Eleanor Torres is a brilliant young artist. She has worked very hard. I am beyond proud of her and I know that she will do great things in the future. She gave me permission to share. She has also received a partial scholarship.
She currently has art work on display at the Arts Council this month.
UnConference is coming!
UnConference 2018 (#OnslowUN) is coming June 13, 2018! This year’s location is Dixon Middle School.
For those unfamiliar, UnConference is a OCS sponsored technology conference where you and/or your students have the opportunity to showcase their “digital skills”. If you’re not interested in presenting, drop into a session of your choosing to learn something new or just come by to check all the cool things going on in Onslow County Schools!
OCS is currently looking for any volunteers (staff or students) who may be interesting in presenting. See this link for last years lineup of topics to get a “flavor” of how UnConference works. http://ocsunconference.weebly.com/unconference-schedule.html
Let Mr. Simpson know if you (or your students) would like to be a presenter! Window for Proposals will begin Monday, February 12th. Topics likely to appear this year are: Microsoft Teams, OneNote ClassNotebook, Edmentum (Study Island, TestPacks, Accucess, etc), MakerSpace-type projects or activities, 1:1 strategies/best practices, Robotics, etc.
