CELEBRATE METACOGNITION!
What a PD last week! Do you remember all things metacognition? Let's recap and spend a moment on some of last week's nuggets:
- Metacognition was defined and we had time to process the information in 4 corners.
- We role played with a non-academic example, practicing metacognition to get a sense of what it feels/sounds like.
- We identified different parts of a lesson plan and where metacognitive practices could be integrated into the lesson.
- Strategies and practices to support teaching and learning metacognition were shared via table tent prompts, the article posted last week, and the T-chart notes and examples.
- Metacognitive strategies should be added to lessons (they don't need to be labeled).
- If you appreciate a visual, enjoy the video below - it touches on a lot of the same information in a different way.
