From Trent Beer to Kaz Synal for his years of dedication to WMS.
From Michelle Kerlin to the entire cafeteria staff for always helping when needed.
Daily Objective Expectations/Lesson Plans
Are they posted? Updated everyday? Are they measurable for that class period? Are your lesson plans in the green binder? Are your lesson plans easily accessible and updated?
If you would like to contact our PTO, e-mail them at firstname.lastname@example.org
NO SHAVE NOVEMBER
Time to grow out your facial fur and wear blue jeans to raise funds and awareness for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. See e-mail from Jace. $10 to grow the beard and $1.00/day to wear blue jeans. There are 18 days we are at school in November.
What's New IDOE-ISTEP RESULTS!!!
Parent letters were sent out last week. As of last Monday, parents can log in to the test system to see their child's scores and whether or not they passed ISTEP. This has not been a smooth process as you can imagine. Cindy has been working very hard to work with parents and guide them through the process.

It seems that you have heard the talk of Skills Navigator coming soon to Wawasee. This tool, used a good source of remediation, is very similar to Study Island, but is more in tune to how the students are performing on NWEA and aligns activities to build support for learning skills measured by NWEA. Earlier you were sent a link for Destination PD. This is a web module for learning more about how to implement, set-up, and navigate Skills Navigator. Please complete the learning module and dabble in Skills Navigator to learn its interface. Also, I submitted the rosters for students today. This will activate the students ability to log in and use the program. User names will be the student’s email address (FirstNameMiddleInitialLastName@students.wawasee.k12.in.us).
Look for more information about this resource very soon.
School Safety Response #5
Last week’s School Safety scenario was about seeing a sub in your team not evacuating properly. The most appropriate response would be to work with your own sub folder to make sure that you have the appropriate information for various drills, evacuations, and safety scenarios. Another step would be to include active review of your classroom practices and procedures during team meeting to ensure that all was in place. A third step, would include checking in with sub to ensure they have what they need.
As mentioned last week, Craft Bazaar is right around the corner. I am finishing up sign up sheets, ‘prizes’ for donations, and request for workers. Anticipate more information within the week. Please begin conversations with students about enticing them for donations (soft drinks, water, cookies, brownies).
Have a great week,Shawn J
