Monett JAG
Monett JAG partnered with Aurora JAG to host the first Career Readiness Fair. Senior students experienced job-related workshops focused on soft skills, job benefits, social media, turning a job into a career, and how to quit a job properly. Our students had the opportunity to have their resumes reviewed by area business leaders and participated in mock interviews.
Congratulations to Gavin Hagerman!
Congratulations to Gavin Hagerman for taking 3rd place in Novice Original Oratory and 4th in Novice International Extemp. This event took place in December at the Bolivar Speech & Debate Tournament.
Mrs. Cox receives $1,300 to Support Students
Take a look at these beautifully crafted Multicultural Books from our very own Monett students!
As part of the MultiCultural Literacy Grant facilitated by ELD Specialist Kari Cox, some of our MHS students wrote and illustrated books representing their heritage country. You can experience A-Z information via digital books from the following countries: Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, Myanmar/Burma, Netherlands, Puerto Rico, & Thailand. If you see a speech button, click on it, as you'll hear the author reading excerpts aloud in English and/or in their native language.
Due to the MultiCultural Literacy Grant, Mrs. Cox was able to physically print the student illustrated books. She was also able to purchase t-shirts and two additional books for students to take home.
Santa at MECC!
Santa made a quick stop at MECC to visit students!
Daycare Center
The Monett Daycare center held a food drive and collection of socks, gloves, hats, and scarfs. Ms Robyn gave the collection of clothes to Mrs. Coffey, MECC Care to Learn Coordinator. The food collection was given to the United Methodist Church Food Pantry in Monett. Thank you for the donations!
We thank Brad Hill from State Farm Insurance for gifting personalized calendars to all our staff members!
We thank the Monett Community Church for dropping off goodie boxes for all the MHS staff before the holiday break!
