A Message from Dr. Stone

Good evening!

Thank you so much to all of the students who participated in our campus fundraiser. We were able to raise enough money to continue making our WCJH Legacy Courtyard AMAZING! With the money that we raised we are purchasing picnic tables with seats, benches and trash receptacles so that students and teachers can enjoy the courtyard for lunch or other events! We are hoping to get it covered as well if we have enough money left over.

If you haven't done so already, you can purchase a WCJH Legacy brick to go in the courtyard that will be placed around our bronze Timberwolf. The info to order is at the bottom of the Timberwolf Times.

I am throwing a tailgate party on Monday, October, 7th at Legacy Stadium for our staff and their families before the 7th grade Football Team takes on SLJH. We will be donning WC jerseys and cheering on our Timberwolves! We hope to see you there!

Thanks and I hope everyone is having a great week!

ID Badge Notice

As you are undoubtedly aware, Katy ISD requires students at the secondary level to wear identification badges during the school day. The ID badge is to be worn where it is easily visible throughout the day.

When students do not have their IDs, they are to report to the cafeteria in the morning, or the AP office throughout the day, to obtain a temporary ID. If a student misplaces their ID, they can purchase one for $3 in the library.

We have noticed many students are not obtaining a temporary ID or replacing their lost IDs. Because this is an important safety measure, the campus administration has been exploring ways to intervene with this trend. Beginning this week, students will be notified that starting next week, random “ID sweeps” will be conducted during class periods to identify students who are not wearing their ID or a temporary ID. Those students will be automatically assigned a lunch detention.

We appreciate your help in talking to your student about the importance of wearing ID badges.

Attendance Callout

For safety measures, starting on Monday, September 30th, parents and/or guardians of students who are absent (regardless of whether you have already let us know of the absence or whether it is excused or unexcused) will receive a callout saying the following:

Good morning,

This is a courtesy notification from WoodCreek Junior High to inform you that your child ____ was not present during 1st or 2nd period today. The message is for information only and is not a verification of absence. However, if your child is absent today, you are encouraged to send documentation to school with your child upon return. If you have already confirmed your child's absence from school today, please disregard this message. Katy ISD welcomes the opportunity to partner with our parents to ensure our students' safety and academic success.
