WLMS SPEAK Transition News
Mrs. Greene's SPEAK transition class has been busy this month. Started out the month of March with our Middle School Integrated Athletics Track and Field Event. The students had a wonderful time participating in running and field events! West Lake students brought home a lot of medals!
This month in reading we read about the new Harry Potter exhibit being displayed at the Franklin Institute Science Museum in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. We wrapped up our unit with the students getting to make their very own magic bubble wands!
In Science, the students learned about different animal adaptations and are now starting a unit on plants. They all had a great time conducting the "Polar Bear Blubber" lab and learning how blubber helps keep the polar bears warm in the water. Students also got to explore the parts of a real life plant and learn what plants need to survive.
