Hour of Code Updates
Most classes in grades 1-6 have now had the opportunity to begin Hour of Code activities via learn.code.org and/or Tynker. You can try these activities as well! You might find you're hooked! Try the Frozen or Flappy Bird-themed activities!
The Elementary Tech Conference 2014 was a huge success!
Thanks to our principals for allowing Elanco elem teachers to attend this year's conference! Our very own Michael Lewis facilitated a session about the use of Edmodo in the classroom! Other attendees were Jessie H. and Adam G. from Blue Ball and Heather S. from New Holland. Be sure to touch base with these colleagues to find out which sessions they attended and what they learned. A conference wiki was created to share many resources from the sessions and presenters. Click here to access the wiki and learn more about tools that can help you and your students create, collaborate, and communicate!

Plickers for formative assessment!
One of the tools introduced at #iu13etc14 was Plickers, a formative assessment tool that works via a teacher's mobile device and coded cards for students. (No student devices required). We have developed a parent permission form to distribute if you'd like to use Plickers in your classroom, just email me for a copy. Michael Lewis is going to give it a try after the holiday break!
Have a happy holiday break! See you in January!
