Chicago, IL
Latin American culture close to home!
Your guided walking tour of the Pilsen Village area will feature beautiful wall murals, two schools, and local highlights such as authentic dulcerías (sweet shops) and panaderías (bakeries).
Chicago is home to a huge and vibrant Mexican-American community, but nowhere is that more readily and genuinely felt than the Little Village neighborhood on the city’s West Side. A tiled, terra cotta gateway emblazoned with ‘bienvenidos’ warmly welcomes visitors to experience the supermarkets, taquerias and countless carts and vendors hawking churros, tamales and other authentic Mexican street foods.
Visit Emilio's, begin your authentic Spanish dinner with a Spanish cooking
lesson in making Paella!
National Museum of Mexican Art is located in Little Village. The museum
has a permanent collection featuring prominent works by Mexican artists and
artifacts from Mexican history. The exhibit "Mexicanidad: Our Past is
Present" explores the history of Mexico in five stages: Pre-Cuauhtémoc
Mexico, Colonial Mexico, Mexico from Independence to Revolution, Post-
Mexican Revolution to Present-day Mexico and The Mexican Experience in
the US.
Enjoy a fabulous meal at Mi Tierra. Mi Tierra is one of the most popular and
authentic Mexican restaurants in the Chicago area.
Latin Street Dancing is the premiere Latin Dance Company in Chicago.
Your students will learn the Salsa, Tango, Cha Cha, and Meringue from
professional instructors in a private studio.
