E-Learning Day - September 21st

Don't forget that on September 21st, all CPCSC students will have an e-learning day. Parents can find information about student learning, attendance, and more by clicking on the button below.

On September 21st, CPCSC staff will be participating in a safety exercise called 'reunification' - an important component of our district’s safety plan. If an incident at one of our buildings should require an evacuation, we will use the Standard Reunification Method to reconnect parents with their children in an organized and secure manner. CPCSC uses the process from The “I Love U Guys” Foundation which provides resources for more than 30,000 schools, organizations, and communities around the world.

You may see some of our local first responders at the high school as our team practices the reunification process on September 21st. We’re grateful for their partnership as we continue to provide safe schools for all of our students. You can learn more about reunification on the “I Love you Guys” Foundation website.

Employability Skill Survey

We want to thank our parents/guardians for being valued partners as we work together to educate our students.

While many people often think of student success in relation to grades or test scores, it is also important to consider the social and emotional growth of our students. Starting September 19th-Sept 26th , we will ask students in grades 3-12 for their feedback via a 20-30 minute online survey completed at school. The survey will ask students to reflect on their self-efficacy, emotional regulation, social awareness, and supportive relationships. The results from the survey support our ability to address individual and school-identified needs.

We have previously administered this survey as part of our Ready To Learn student services work. The data was used to implement positive behavior interventions and improve school culture and climate. We look forward to using new data from this school year to identify and align services for students.

If you have any questions about the survey or do not want your child to participate, please contact your school’s main office before September 19th. Students who opt out of the survey will still be able to participate in programs or services created as a result of the data.

Student ID Cards

In the upcoming weeks, students will receive their annual student ID cards. Indiana legislation has changed the information that schools are required to include on those cards.

House Enrolled Act 1468 (2021) states that all public schools issuing student ID cards to students in grades 6-12 must include a hotline and text information for suicide prevention, crisis, human trafficking, teen dating violence, and sexual assault. Again, this applies to only students in grades 6-12.

The Indiana Department of Education provided recommendations for phone numbers based on a report from the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute. The information below is what students will see on the back of their new IDs.

  • National Suicide Prevention Lifeline: 9-8-8

  • National Human Trafficking Hotline: 1-888-373-7888

  • Teen Dating Violence/Domestic Violence: 1-800-799-7233

  • National Sexual Assault Hotline: 1-800-656-4673

  • Suicide Prevention: “Start” to 678678

  • Crisis Text Line: “IN” to 741741

  • National Human Trafficking Hotline: 233733

  • Domestic Violence: “Start” to 88788 (National Domestic Violence Hotline)

  • National Teen Dating Abuse Helpline: “Loveis” to 22522

  • Sexual Assault: “Home” to 741741

Please reach out to our administrative team if you have any questions about this information.
