A Big Thank You!
ILT Update
The ILT continued their unit of study on Leading Effective Data Analysis meetings. Each ILT member brought their completed data analysis conversation plan and was provided time to practice their plan with a partner and receive/give feedback. When we return from Spring Break, we will be meeting with a group of career teachers to share the process and answer questions. We are looking forward to beginning our work on developing a Data Driven Culture within our campus and career teachers.
Communication
As a result of follow-up conversations with the facilitators from the Monday morning meeting, I thought it important to clarify the following:
- The office will continue to limit the number of emails sent to staff during the school day.
- If an email needs to be sent that is highly important, it will be "flagged" in red so that you are aware that it needs to be read as soon as possible.
- Please use your professional discretion regarding emails.

News from Central Office
Today’s Focus: Culture
“Employees are your most valuable assets. They are the heart and guts of a company.”
– Carlos Ghosn
Reflections to Guide Your Journey
Think of a few leaders who have impacted your life.
How did their guidance make you feel valued and appreciated as an individual?
How has your school utilized each member’s unique abilities in ways that open new opportunities for success?
Do you/your team select new team members with this philosophy in mind?
What can you do to instill this thinking within your organization?
1. Love this quote and the reflection questions, especially at this time of year when we are working to anticipate the opportunities for bringing on new team members to our staff.
REMINDER to All Building Principals, Assistant Principals, ECSEC Coordinators and TOSAs (if appropriate)! Tuesday, March 27th we will be hosting our own GCS Teacher Recruitment Event from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at GHS. Please enter the building at the main door, Door M, and head towards the Media Center. Sarah, Angela and Marlene will be directing you and our participants to the right location if you need assistance. Candidates have been told to bring resumes to distribute. The media center will be set up with table tents for each school. If more than one recruiter attends, you may sit together or spread out. There will be plenty of room. We will provide materials for you, such as interview forms, notepads, a flyer with information about where things are located. Thanks to GHS for hosting!
2. It is Time to be thinking about Turn Around Awards-
Please start thinking about Turn Around Awards! We will have the Board recognize the Turn Around Award Winners at the May 14th Board meeting. We will need the name of your school’s winner and the grade level no later than May 1st! More details will follow as we get closer.
5th grade - could you please get names to me for consideration by April 16th. Thanks!
Enjoy the weekend!
