PSSA Sport starts this week
PSSA sport starts this Friday and Banksmeadow has students involved in AFL, Softball and Cricket. Each week the PSSA teams are transported by bus to play against other school teams at venues dedicated to the sport. We are privileged to be part of the competition and wish all our teams the very best of luck. Please be sure to sign permission notes and pay the weekly bus fee for your child to travel to PSSA venues otherwise they will not be able to participate. Training will commence this Friday 21st February on the school oval from 8:15am.
For this week softball and cricket matches will be held at Nagle Park, while AFL is always held at Heffron Park near the netball courts.
For further information, including cancellations, change in routine and game results follow us on twitter (@BanksmeadowPS) for live updates. Draws for each sport can be found by clicking on the link below.

36 amazing swimmers will represent Banksmeadow P.S in the upcoming Zone Swimming Carnival next Thursday 27th February. Information, including permission notes, programs and participants events, has already been sent out. Please ensure those students attending have their permission notes and entry fee returned to the school office by Friday 21st February.
Please enjoy these action shots taken from the school swimming carnival.
A big congratulations goes to Jade (5M) who was been selected in the ESPSSA Open Girls Basketball team to trial in the SEPSSA team. This is a great achievement and we wish her all the best for the representative season ahead.
Did you know that if a child misses as few as eight days of school per term, by the end of Primary school they will have missed an entire year of education?
Regular attendance at school is essential to assist students to maximise their potential. When children miss out on school, they miss out on vital information, their learning routine is disrupted, they can lose confidence and can miss out on developing friendships.
Please be reminded that if your child is unable to attend school, a note detailing the reason needs to be provided to your child's class teacher as soon as possible, or within seven days of the absence.
