STAAR Testing
Students in all grade levels will be taking STAAR tests this week. This means GMS will be a closed campus (no visitors) all week. Our STEMies will be testing on TUESDAY and WEDNESDAY this week. Here are a few helpful hints to ensure students are prepared to do their best:
- Make sure students are well rested each night before testing
- Provide students the opportunity for a good, full breakfast. They will not have an opportunity for snacks.
- Send them to school as relaxed and stress free as possible.
- Students will attend all class periods after testing, so they will need binders, although they will need to be kept in lockers during testing.
- Students may bring a water bottle with a lid.
- Remind them how proud you are of their hard work this year.
- Encourage them to work slowly and carefully.
FREE Breakfast on Tuesday
On Tuesday, April 21, 2015, any student (3rd – 8th grade) may walk into any McDonald’s in North Texas (27 counties), with an adult/guardian, and receive a free breakfast (choices can be found in flier). FREE Breakfast Flier
Cinder Books
As a reminder, students will need a copy of the book Cinder by Marissa Meyer by Thursday, April 23rd. Books are available at local book stores, including Sams club! If you need assistance in purchasing a book or are having trouble finding a copy, please contact Mrs. Monson.
