TEACHER ONLY DAY (HALF DAY): Primary Paid Union (PUM) Meeting TUESDAY 22 NOVEMBER

Dear Parents / Caregivers

Our Rotorua Intermediate kaiako (teachers), will be attending a paid union meeting on Tuesday 22nd November at 1pm, therefore our school will need to close at 12.00pm, on this day, so teachers can attend.

The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the progress of negotiations concerning their collective employment agreement. The negotiations will also address issues related to smaller class sizes, support for higher needs students, better recognition of cultural skills, greater job security for our essential relievers and acknowledging the value and the challenging work of teachers.

Students are invited to attend school in mufti clothing and will be released at 12pm, after they have eaten.

We appreciate this is an inconvenience, and hopefully if our campaign to address the above is successful, both teachers and your child will reap the benefits.

We thank you in advance for your support
