A Message From Our Principal
Greetings!
It has been nice to be in-person even though the population is not what we are accustomed to. Seeing teachers in the building and students coming off the bus gives me hope that one day soon we will be back to a full day and more normalcy.
Not only are we in-person teaching but athletics is underway. We have girls and boys basketball and our bowling team currently in season. Starting February 1 we will see boys and girls winter track and swimming. Then, volleyball and wrestling will be right around the corner with a March 1 start. All seems to be on track for smooth starts. We also have some clubs doing their thing, such as mock trial, which has been competing virtually and doing well. We are moving forward with plans for Mr. EHT, NHS, and of course, prom and graduation.
Mr. Heenan and his crew have been working diligently on making sure our 2021 yearbook is just as wonderful and exciting as it always has been.
I want to thank all our faculty and staff for their amazing efforts and flexibility as we have moved to in-person and are looking to make changes in scheduling (more to come on that in the next week or so). Many Juniors will be taking the PSAT test on Tuesday January 26 and we wish them well. Many of our language students have taken the seal of biliteracy test virtually this year and we are looking forward to those results.
I also want to thank parents and guardians for their help and support through this “road back” endeavor that the state has imposed on us. We have continued to follow the directives from the state and the county on opening and being safe in the school. Your flexibility and understanding has been so appreciated.
Until next week, stay safe, be well, continue to dream of the possibilities ahead of us, be happy and smile at someone!
Ms.Connor
STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT
Students of the Week
STUDENT: Aysha Choudhury
NOMINATED By: Mrs. Jerome
Aysha is a very polite and dedicated student. She asks questions and uses her time well. She also takes the time to clarify her work when needed. Aysha is making the most of virtual learning.
STUDENT: Alex Nguyen
NOMINATED BY: Mr. Cohen
Alex Nguyen has demonstrated focus and determination in completing his schoolwork to the best of his ability. Alex has proactively reached out to his English teacher to learn about how he might be able to move up from his current CP classes to Advanced classes next year. I am impressed by his desire to work toward this academic goal.
Sing-Along at Somers Place with Interact
On Sunday, December 20th, nineteen interact members participated in a holiday sing-along with the residence of Somers Place assisted living facility here in EHT. A special shout out to Ryan Ho, who put the power point together, Mahathir Khan and Tiffany Tran who helped to pick out the songs and Alec Armstrong who dressed up as Santa!

Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics Presents to Electrical Engineering Students
On Wednesday, January 13th, Brandon Weiss from the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics provided a presentation on the aviation industry to our Electrical Engineering students. Our students learned that at PIA, students are trained to work in the industry of robotics, aviation, aeronautics, and STEM occupations that grab your attention. Mr. Weiss, focused attention to graduates who work in this amazing industry that far exceeds an average expectation. The list of well-rounded technicians is endless with an unusually motivating list of companies that support the school’s objective to advance engineering and science in a way that promotes gainful employment (affordably priced). The connection to PIA with aviation careers and the demand for future employees in the field was also discussed.
