SMS Broadcasting Teacher, Mrs. Hall, Receives Accolades

School Dates to Note:

April 21st and 22nd-No School due to Fred Arnold Invite

April 25th-All students will be released at 9:30 a.m. to participate in the SMS Track Meet

April 26th and 27th-No School due to Faculty Professional Development

May 4th-11:30 dismissal for 6th and 7th graders due to orientation

May 18th-1:30 dismissal-Last day of School

6th and 9th Grade Orientation

The 6th and 9th grade orientations will take place on the afternoon of May 4th. There will be an 11:30 dismissal for 6th and 7th graders on this day. Current 5th graders will eat lunch at SMS, while the current 8th graders will eat lunch at SCHS. A letter has been mailed to all of the district's 5th and 8th grade families!
Pop-Up Kitchen Comes to SMS

SMS students were recently treated to a pop-up restaurant. The event was sponsored by Highland and featured the work of professional chef, Sharon Shaefer.

SMS Track Wins Big at Wisner-Pilger

With a team of approximately 120 students, the SMS track season is underway! The first meet was recently held at Wisner-Pilger. The Junior Warriors represented the school well by being crowned champion for the 8th grade boys and girls, as well as 2nd in the 7th grade boys divisions!

8th Grade Graduation

The administration at SMS would like to continue the tradition of hosting an 8th grade graduation. All 8th grade students and their families are welcome to participate in the ceremony on May 18th at 10:00 a.m. in the SMS Gym!

NeSA Testing is Underway!

SMS students have participated in this year's Nebraska State Accountability (NeSA) Test. The last testing session will take place on April 12-14th. Any student that may have missed their testing session will complete their session before May 6th.
