National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) Testing on March 2, 2022
Several 8th grade students were randomly selected to be assessed for the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) on March 2, 2022. NAEP is the largest nationally representative and continuing assessment of what students know and can do in various subjects. NAEP is different from our state assessments because it is a common measure of achievement across the country.
The assessment is administered by the National Center for Education Statistics, within the U.S. Department of Education. The results are released as The Nation’s Report Card, which provides information about student achievement to educators, parents, policymakers, and the public.

Art Painting Party
Art Painting Party is open to ANY and ALL students of BURKHOLDER, not just Art Students!
For those interested, we will start our after school Paint Parties on the designated Thursday from 2:30pm-3:30pm. Each painting party is $20 and must be paid ONE week in advance.
Paint Party Dates:
March 17th
April 21st (*end of year celebration)
You will get to create your own, one-of-a-kind artwork to take home!

Students Returning to Campus after Isolation/Quarantine due to Covid-19
There are circumstances in which individual students are required to wear masks at school. These circumstances were in effect before the mask mandate was repealed and are part of the CCSD guidance that has not been lifted.
1) Students returning from 5 day isolation/quarantine must continue to wear their mask through day 10.
2) All previous exemptions to isolation/quarantine that existed before are still in effect but the student is expected to wear a mask through day 10.

The CCSD COVID-19 Parent/Guardian Hotline is available Monday through Friday (excluding holidays) from 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. and can be reached by calling (702) 799-4322.
