Summer School Information
US History
Dear Parents,
We are looking forward to summer school next few weeks with your student. We will have two classes of US History this summer. The first semester will be taught by Mr. McCard and Ms. Donnelly and the second semester will be taught by Mr. McCard and Mr. Ford. Both classes will cover the same material and complete the same assignments. It is imperative that students are in attendance each day. Missing one day of summer school is equivalent to missing a week during the school year. Students' grades will consist of a combination of classwork, quizzes, tests, a midterm and a final. Grade updates will be sent home on Fridays. There is no specific homework for the summer school however, it is always encouraged for students to review the vocabulary and notes from that day since summer school does cover a large quantity of content each day.
Students already have access to the course textbook through the Google Drive but will also be given access to a PDF version the first day of class to download onto their computer.
Our US History course focuses on post-Civil War and 20th century US History and will be divided up as follows:
First Semester:
American Geography
Ch 16 Reconstruction
Ch 17 Into the West
Ch 18 Rise of Industry
Ch 22 Imperialism
Second Semester :
