October-November Food Drive at Giesinger
Giesinger Elementary Needs You to Help Drive Out Hunger!
During the weeks below we will be collecting different items. The items for each week are listed in the chart below. These donations will go to help the families in Conroe ISD and The Montgomery County Food Bank.
The grade level that collects the most items will win a brownies and ice cream party the week of November 18th. Thank you so much for helping our community.

Postivity Project Character Strength of the Week: Bravery
This weeks Positivity Project character trait is Bravery.
Bravery refers to voluntary (not coerced) action in the face
of a dangerous circumstance. This strength involves
judgment; the brave person must have an understanding of
the risks and consequences involved in acting. According
to Socrates and Plato, forethought separates acts of valor
from acts of rashness. This means that bravery isn’t simply
fearlessness, but instead the overcoming of fear.
Bravery can take many forms. Physical bravery involves
overcoming fear of bodily injury or death. Moral bravery
occurs when an individual does what he/she believes is
right in the face of social and/or financial consequences.
Mental bravery occurs when people overcome their
everyday fears and anxieties.

"Feels Like" Temperature
We will be using Weather Underground for our daily weather check.
Please use this link and/or app. Graystone Hills has a weather station here so we will use this unless it goes down.
https://www.wunderground.com/weather/us/tx/conroe/KTXCONRO198
The app looks like this. Our ZIP code is 77304 then you may have to select the weather station "Graystone Hills".
Come see me if you have trouble.
If the "feels like temp" is 95-98 degrees, you may have 15 minutes of outside recess instead of 30.
If the "feels like temp" is 99 or greater there is no outside recess.
