EES School Counseling

Did you know that you must "opt in" for your child to participate in class guidance lessons with Mrs. Hembree, EES School Counselor? You, as your child's guardian, have always had the decision-making authority with regards to school-based mental health services, as well as with small group interventions; but, we now need your permission to offer lessons required in the Cullman City Schools Character Education Curriculum. Please consider choosing to opt in for, at least, the large group lessons. The curriculum is available upon request and covers topics such as citizenship, kindness, sportsmanship, patriotism, and perseverance. For more information, please watch the video below. Opt in information and forms can be found on our website at https://www.cullmancats.net/Page/3111.

Minute To Win It

Our Media Specialist & Reading Coach are excited to announce a new school-wide reading incentive: MINUTE TO WIN IT! Mrs. Wood and Mrs. Howard will be recording the number of minutes that students are engaged with independent reading in the classroom. The class with the highest total between September 6-December 9 will compete in a game of kickball against an all-star team of teachers. Students and teachers will be able to monitor their progress and place in the competition on the bulletin board outside of the Library. Reading just got a little more fun!

Attendance Counts

September is attendance awareness month, so why not offer an incentive for perfect attendance? Students who are present each day this month, beginning today, and have no tardies or checkouts at the end of the month will receive a special treat during school on Monday, October 3.
